San Diego Yoga Festival

SDYF is an epic yoga festival on the beach in Imperial Beach, San Diego. It is San Diego’s largest yoga festival reaching thousands of holistically-minded (or curious) people! It celebrates humanity and health offering nonstop yoga, meditation and healing classes open to all people, of all ages and all levels of yogic understanding. There is something for people who have never done yoga before, those just beginning, those with a regular practice, and yoga teachers and healers! With classes for kids and even a yoga class for your dog everyone is WELCOME!

Genius in the House!

What can take your fun day at the science center to the next level? Genius in the House! This event brings brainiacs from fields such as biology, art, engineering, mathematics and more to the Fleet to enhance the exhibit experience. This is a casual event in the exhibit galleries, not a lecture, so you'll have the chance to chat with the genius and ask questions. Explore themes from our exhibitions in ways that are both insightful and delightful.

BLOCKCEPTION HACKATHON

Parking in any major city is a stressful experience and feeding the meter is an annoying one. It’s time to engineer the problem away! Join The Machine Learning Society and CyberTECH on March 2–4 at XY Oracle Network offices for San Diego’s first Blockchain Hackathon. Hack the ledger by developing state-of-the-art applications for Smart Cities on the Blockchain.

Challenges will bring together Blockchain developers, Artificial Intelligence experts and Cybersecurity professionals to deploy robust traffic management solutions that fundamentally re-imagine urban transportation.

ART SCIENCE COGNITION: Metaphor Building

ART SCIENCE COMPLEX has originated and designed exercises using drawing and writing to promote latent ability within the brain. Metaphorical thinking promotes both neuroplasticity and "on demand "adult neurogenesis, the mature brain's ability to quickly adapt to novel information and experiential, conceptually driven learning--segue to the generation of new neurons in the hippocampal region, as well their successful integration into the preexisting neuronal network.

Building Better Batteries

Speaker: Ying Shirley Meng, Ph.D., Associate Professor Department of Nano Engineering University of California, San Diego.

High energy, long life, rechargeable batteries are considered an important technological opportunity to reduce production of greenhouse gasses. What standards should be set for safety of new energy storage technologies? And, who should enforce those standards? Join us for this program to learn about these exciting developments as well as discussing how best to meet potential social and ethical challenges.

Fleet Night of Science—MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition

This edition of Fleet Night of Science will celebrate the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering and the Fleet's newest exhibition, MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition.
