Thermo Fisher Scientific offers hands-on, classroom-friendly STEM activities that make complex scientific ideas tangible and fun. Two popular activities—Strawberry DNA extraction and DNA name bracelets—help students connect molecular biology concepts to real-world applications while practicing scientific thinking, data interpretation, and creative design.

The deep sea is the largest habitat on Earth and home to an amazing diversity of animals. Come learn about the biology and ecology of deep-sea animals, which have numerous adaptations to life in the dark (large eyes, cryptic coloration, light organs). This hands-on activity will introduce participants to common deep-sea species (including lanternfishes, dragonfishes, glass squids, and barrel shrimps) and the essential roles these animals play in oceanic food webs and global nutrient cycles.

Learn how advances in microscopy, AI, and computational biology allow us to detect critically important cancer biomarkers from a single image. You’ll see first hand how this incredible technology from Acurion works, how it will impact cancer care around the world, and you’ll be able to interact with a prototype to let you discover the power of AI in advanced diagnostics.

Students and their families will have the opportunity move, learn more about the human body, and meet a few physical therapy professionals and students. Students will be able to complete a human skeleton puzzle, complete a few movements, and learn more about how physical therapists use technology with their patients!

Welcome to LKW STEM FOUNDATION’s presentation of “Magical Adventures & Illusions in the STEMverse”, a hands-on enrichment experience where science feels like magic and every learner becomes an explorer of curiosity. In this program, students rotate through four interactive “stations” that transform traditional STEM into enchanting, magical adventures. Each rotation invites learners to discover, create, and problem-solve through activities that feel as exciting as they are educational!

Come learn from architects how to design, draw and visualize your design in 2D and 3D. Bring your imagination and experience to our booth featuring design technology and software, virtual reality and building blocks. All ages welcome.

San Diego State University representatives from science and engineering will provide engaging and interactive activities for students and families of all ages. Learn directly from the SDSU researchers and innovators leading San Diego to new heights in STEM.

We will have our mouse mascot available for pictures. plenty of swag and informational handouts, visual demonstrations on husbandry, possible origami mice and frogs.

Explore the world of aerospace materials through a hands-on show and tell featuring real components, specifically mock ups of aircraft nacelles. Put your engineering skills to the test with our paper folding and flight-throwing competition.
