College and Beyond (21+)

Experience your world in fun and fascinating ways. Learn how your brain interprets your visual world and how your thoughts and memories affect what you know. See how visual illusions present images that make you question what you see. Experience how your mind processes information. The activities reveal the fascinating ways that Psychological Science explores how we understand behaviors and mental processes. Want to understand more about what people do and how they think? Activities will introduce the public to the monitoring that takes place within the reserve including an exhibit of a data logger, a model of a salt marsh for hands on vegetation sampling, a maze describing carbon sequestration, and a salt marsh super heroes interactive for elementary-aged students.

**HeartHug** is a celebration of the embrace, it is a visualisation of a hug between two or more people, broadcasted for all to see. When two or more spectators hug beneath the sculpture, the heart lights up with a full spectre (rainbow). If one or more people stands without a hug, only half of HeartHug shines with just one random colour of spectre.

We are representing the City of San Diego's Pure Water Program. This program will create 1/2 of San Diego's water supply locally and sustainably. We are not selling anything, but will be there to provide information about the program and answer questions. We have some giveaways and an interactive prize wheel. We are open to brainstorming some other activities as well if needed.

We have a spinning wheel to assist with interaction that is used to educate what items should and should not end up in the piping and drains associated with connection to the wastewater system. Those items include fats, oils, grease, non-biodegradable substances, etc. We will have informational hand outs as well as giveaway items.

We will be providing a variety of hands-on models (human anatomy and cell/microbiology). We might also have kinetic sandbox with plants and animals for an ecology theme.

Hands on activities in chemistry, physics, geosciences, astronomy, and life sciences. This will include live demonstrations and hands on experiments and activities.

Brain puzzles, brain health info for kids and adults

Participants will learn how to use a micropipette by pipetting watercolor to chromatography paper, making bookmarks that they can take home.
