Visit The New Children's Museum's Innovators Lab and take on the design challenge, "Can you make a balancing sculpture?"
During this workshop, you will work with a Teaching Artist to make custom tops made out of wax using a Nova Comet Midi-Lathe!
Learn about how the design process works, how to make something go from 2D to 3D, and what is subtractive sculpture.

All activities are to spark a love for science in your future innovator.

*Parking is available for free in the adjacent dirt parking lot off Main Street, Vista, CA. Free street parking is also available on Sundays.

Super STEM Saturday is designed to expose and engage kids of all ages and their families to the diverse and exciting fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as the STEM disciplines. The brainchild of The Classical Academies and held in partnership with CSUSM, Super STEM Saturday has grown into a popular North County event that draws over 7,000 science enthusiasts each year to the university campus.

Vista Unified School District would like to extend an invitation to join us for our 4th Annual STEM Fest event. STEM Fest is an evening event celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics showcasing K-12 student's innovative and creative STEM work. STEM related companies will host demonstrations and share career related information. MiraCosta and Palomar colleges, Cal State San Marcos and UCSD will also be in attendance providing interactive STEM activities and college STEM course and major information. Get ready for Saint Patrick’s Day by experimenting with color-changing cabbage juice and harnessing the power of a potato. Join us on the second Saturday of each month to investigate exciting science topics.

Explore-It! Whales: Through hands-on activities, guests will explore the wide diversity of whales and learn about our local whale species. We will have station based activities on the floor for guests to interact with.

San Diego Miramar College will host a free science festival on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12pm for kids from 9 to 99 at its Mira Mesa Campus (10440 Black Mountain Road). The Miramar College science faculty, staff and students will present a morning filled with “hands on” activities. All ages are welcome and this is a free event with free parking on campus! This event is part of the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering taking place around San Diego County starting on March 4th, 2017.
