Establishing and Growing Your Brand in the Digital Age
Biocom invites our Life Science Young Leaders to our upcoming professional development workshop on March 6th, as part of San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering's 21+ Adult Science Series, taking place during the Festival's STEM Week.
Join Denise Pirrotti Hummel and Matt Hummel as they share their experiences on the importance of both personal branding and brand representation. Kicking off the workshop, attendees will hear the perspective of a global thought-leader and senior enterprise leader who has witnessed the rapid evolution of traditional media to social media over time. Following Denise, attendees will then hear the perspective of Matt Hummel, a millennial marketing professional whose career is defined by the digital age and his ability to leverage it to support the brand evolution of his clients.

Biocom’s Life Science Young Leaders (LSYL) Series is a quarterly networking and educational event series that provides Biocom members between the ages of 21 and 39 the opportunity to network with like-minded peers to grow both professionally and personally. Hosted by Biocom, the goal of LSYL is to foster valuable conversations while building relationships between young life science professionals representing the next wave of leadership in California. This event series is intended to provide a casual atmosphere for individuals currently working in the life science field to advance their industry leadership, knowledge, and personal and professional networks.
About Denise Hummel
Denise Pirrotti Hummel, J.D., is the Chief Executive Officer of Lead Inclusively, Inc., a firm devoted to empowering diverse leadership and teams to accelerate innovation and achieve the business results that make diverse ideation an economic imperative. She is particularly passionate about advancing female leaders. She is a Ted Talk finalist and a member of Marshall Goldsmith’s legacy 100 Coaches. She is also a member of the board of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) and former Chair of Athena’s Life Sciences Committee. Ms. Hummel is a serial entrepreneur and CEO, having sold her cross-cultural business, Universal Consensus, LLC, to Ernst & Young, LLP, where she became a Principal. Prior to that she practiced employment law and international M&A as an attorney. In addition to performing some of the largest people integrations in the country, Ms. Hummel also tried and won the first class-action suit under the Americans With Disabilities Act in the 1990s.
About Matt Hummel
As a graduate from the University of Oregon, with a degree in Marketing, Matt got his start in LinkedIn social media management as a consultant LinkedIn Influencer for Best Selling Author and 50s Thinker Executive Coach, Marshall Goldsmith, tasked with contributing to and executing the LinkedIn strategy for Mr. Goldsmith’s account and its One Million+ followers. He now Manages the personal account of Denise Pirrotti Hummel as well as her company page, Lead Inclusively, Inc. (recently receiving an $80 Million valuation) and is executing marketing initiatives for clients, The Padres, The Gulls, DeWitt Movers Worldwide and others.
