We are a non-profit school teaching programming to kids in 5th – 12th grade. Our after-school/weekend classes meet year round to prepare kids for the science and technology careers of the 21st century.

RoboThink - Robotics and Coding for Children
I would need (3) tables and 4-6 chairs.
I will place 2-Robotics kits (24x12x12) per table, so they can be used by children to build robot projects.
I would need a free space on the floor so the robots can be moved around using wired or wireless controls.
Thrive Public Schools, Team Hypernova
Mrs. Kristina H. Watkins leads her 7th grade STEM class from Thrive Public Schools through the Universe with the help of Big History
Project. Students created murals, models and Minecraft manipulations of games synthesizing content. Team Hypernova collaborated to
design, code and build portals to mini Minecraft games that will take players through fun and exciting playable challenges covering 13.8
billion years of time: The Big Bang Theory, Stars, Solar System, Earth and Life!
Viasat
Students will build their own game controller using a Makey Makey and conductive materials and use it to play a Minecraft-inspired racing game. Next, students will have the option to use MIT's Scratch drag-and-drop programming language to code their own version of the game.
TechKnowHow
The booth will focus on robotics and engineering with the use of Lego components. Students will use different components and learn how STEM is applied to each lego project that is used. Students will also be able to manipulate different projects with the use of block coding to have the lego build perform different functions. At the the booth, students will be exposed to video game design and the behind the scenes on how games come to life with the use of programming and coding.
iD Tech
We are the world’s #1 summer tech camp for kids and teens ages 6 – 18! At iD Tech, we offer day & overnight summer camps for aspiring programmers, app developers, video game designers, engineers, filmmakers, photographers, and more. Courses are led by tech-savvy, adult-only staff in a fun, energetic and experiential environment. In addition to providing entertaining and age-appropriate activities, our STEM summer camps are loaded with original, real-world curriculum and professional software.
UC San Diego Bioinformatics & Systems Biology
Hands-on bioinformatics activity with legos or paper cards to show the structure of DNA/genes. Emphasis on reconstructing the genome. Participants will then draw a "monster" whose genome they have reconstructed from legos/paper after we explain to them how the reconstruction they did tells us which genes are present. UCSD Bioinformatics PhD students will be volunteers.

NDIA San Diego Chapter
NDIA Exhibit booth goals are to have students learn about technology needed within DoD from our industry partners and military including Navy Diving Helmets, Robotics, a variety of electronic tools, lights, and lasers. NDIA members talk to the students and parents about careers in STEM and provided helpful information based on their real-world experience. Together we help awaken a greater interest in STEM and STEM education.
