Music Notes STEM Concert

Started by a group of middle school teachers in Los Angeles, Music Notes specializes in creating educational hip hop songs and videos for all ages. They have traveled the country performing for over 100,000 students and their Youtube channel has gathered nearly 2,000,000 views. Music Notes will hit the stage at the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering ready to perform some of their most popular STEM songs, which will be sure to have audience members singing and dancing along.

San Diego County Office of Education - Play Math

Our "PlayMath!" booth provides interactive experiences for children and their families to play with patterns, shapes and puzzles. Children and adults alike appreciate the challenge of the SOMA puzzle and the beauty of pattern blocks. We also share two activities people can take with them throughout the rest of the festival - a shape finder and number game - spreading the math engagement throughout the day.

Hands-On Technology Education

Hands-On Technology Education proudly features interactive, tech adventure demos featuring: virtual reality, e-Sports, robotics, game design & CoreSTEAM, and coding + electronics! Our various activity stations will preview what is offered year-round via our signature Tech Adventure Programs during summer camps, after-school programs, & professional development.

The STEMusic Concert Live!

The STEMusic Concert is a high energy concert full of songs and lessons all about STEM! Students will have a chance to watch live experiments, practice solving math problems and learn STEM vocabulary all while being entertained with incredible music. Roy Moye III, also known as "The Singing Engineer", puts on an engaging show with live singing and participation moments that transport students to a STEM universe with songs that will begin to change the narrative on how they experience STEM!

San Diego State University

Student clubs and outreach organizations from San Diego State University will provide engaging and interactive demonstrations and activities for students and families of all ages. From rocket launches and racecars to marine animals and sound waves, audiences will learn directly from SDSU students in science and engineering about their favorite subjects.

High Temperature Fusion is Very Cool!

Two presenters will provide lively demonstrations on states of matter, electricity & magnetism, force & pressure - these are science categories we use in our nuclear fusion research work. The demonstrations could include: liquid nitrogen, magnetic can launcher, Tesla coil, bed-of-nails, steel can differential pressure crush.

Mechanical Advantage, Team 16884

Mechanical Advantage is a FIRST Tech. Challenge robotics team comprised of high school students. The team provides hands-on robotics demonstrations to attendees at community events. The team's robots are no more than 18" cubed and can operated from a table top and on the ground (i.e., driven) depending on available space. The team has operated from both a 10' x 10' and 10' x 20' booth at past Expo Events. The team's past participation has been sponsored by companies like Cox Communications.

SYSTRA IBT

Test your knowledge of bridges as our engineers demonstrate the concepts of bridge engineering using scale models built with K'NEX blocks. Visitors will discover how bridges are designed and built and learn how they, too, can become bridge engineers.
