Our booth will have hands-on demos and exciting demonstrations on energy and the states of matter. We'll show everything from the coldest of the cold (liquid nitrogen) to the hottest of the hot (plasmas), and explore how the different states of matter behave when energy is added to them. We look at how magnets react to different materials. We also explore energy generation through a pedal-powered light generator, and discuss how nuclear fusion is the future of green energy.

The booth will include info about mosquitoes & public health. There will be interactive activities where visitors can look at insect samples under microscopes. Visitors will learn about the mosquito life cycle, entomology, and how to stay safe from vector transmitted diseases. There will also be giveaways like pencils, magnets, or magnifiers. Info about other environmental health programs including water quality analysis will also be available. We will try to have a Spanish speaker present.

Become your favorite superheroes such as Captain America, Thor, and Wonder Woman. Shoot lightning bolts, dodge lasers, and wield the power of Mjölnir by making your own special effects action video with SEARCH Your Voice - an organization helping kids build confidence and become better public speakers.

Members of the Student Leadership Board of the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair will perform high interest, safe STEM demonstrations. Backboards from the GSDSEF will be on display and students will answer any questions about participating in the GSDSEF.

Assortment of photonics displays and hands-on activities; detailed planning will occur in the next month.

Standard size booth is fine (10 x 10, 1 table, 2 chairs).

Hoping to have 4 activities: Plink, Emoji DNA Game, Art Activity (My Genes Make Me Unique) and a photo op called Picture Yourself a Scientist.
